How to Build a Virtual Assistant Profile Employers Can Evaluate

Turn general administrative experience into specific evidence, clear availability, and a sustainable rate.

Employers cannot evaluate a profile that only says "hardworking virtual assistant." Show what you can own and how you have done it before.

Choose a starting lane

Pick one clear service group: executive administration, customer support, e-commerce operations, real-estate support, bookkeeping support, or content operations. You can expand later, but a focused profile is easier to trust.

Write an evidence-based headline

Use the role, tools, and outcome. For example: "Executive assistant managing multi-time-zone calendars and travel" is more useful than "rockstar VA."

Build two work samples

Create sanitized or fictional examples when client work is confidential: an inbox-triage system, weekly report, content calendar, CRM cleanup plan, customer-response library, or project tracker. Explain the problem, your decisions, and the final output.

State availability honestly

Add current country, timezone, preferred hours, weekly capacity, and required notice. Remot hides "Philippines" on public cards because Filipino eligibility is platform-wide; OFW countries remain visible when useful for working-time context.

Set a sustainable rate

Include software, equipment, taxes, unpaid administration, leave, and skill development in your calculation. The platform floor is not a target or a ceiling.

Keep private details private

Use your public profile for professional evidence. Do not place personal phone numbers, banking details, IDs, or home addresses in your bio or portfolio.
