Client verification guidelines
Before signing a contract, verify who you're working with.
For Philippine-based clients: Ask for their DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) business registration number. Legitimate businesses are registered and can provide this easily.
For international clients:Verify they're using a business email domain (not Gmail/Yahoo). Check their company website and LinkedIn presence. On Remot, look for the verified employer badge.
Red flags to watch for:Requests for upfront payment, unpaid "test tasks" longer than 30 minutes, vague job descriptions, and pressure to communicate outside the platform.
